Abstract
<jats:p>Исторические труды бенгальского экономиста и политика Ромешчондро Дотто рассматриваются в контексте исторического мышления Бенгальского Возрождения. Следуя императиву исследования истории и общества Индии, Р. Дотто попытался объять всю историю своей страны – от древней цивилизации до Нового времени. Его историческая мысль проявилась в различных формах, от исторических романов и книг для учащихся до профессионального исследования. Р. Дотто предложил описание связного и прогрессивного движения индийской истории до начала ХХ века. Он соединил особенности и многомерность истории Индии и представил взаимодействие разных сфер социальной жизни (экономической, гражданской, политической, культурной и духовной). Он обозначил главные векторы истории страны и создал её ясные контуры. Опыт понимания Р. Дотто позволил объединить прошлое и настоящее в общем национальном сознании для ответа на вызовы Нового времени.</jats:p> <jats:p>The historical works by Bengal economist and politician Ramesh Chundra Dutt (1848–1909) are considered in the context of historical thinking of the Bengal Renaissance. Following the intellectual imperative to study of history and society of India, R. C. Dutt attempted to embrace all wholeness of his own country’s history from the ancient civilization to Modernity. His historical thoughts had appeared in different forms from historical novels and educational books to professional research. R. C. Dutt offered description of coherent and progressive movement of Indian history to the 20th. He had connected the features and multidimensionality in India’s history and had represented the interaction of different spheres of social life (economical, civil, political, cultural, spiritual). He had marked the main vectors of her history and had made its clear schema. R. C. Dutt’s experience of comprehension permitted to unite the past and the present in general national consciousness to answer the challenges of Modernity.</jats:p>
