Information and Communication Technologies as a Catalyst for Advancing Sustainable Agricultural Production: A Qualitative Study in Malaysia

<title>Abstract</title> <p>The agriculture sector faces essential challenges that contribute to food insecurity due to uncertainties in climate change, financial challenges, labour interest, low productivity, limited access to information and communication (ICT) results lower agriculture production Malaysia. This study highlighting the prospective of ICT as a tactical initiative to raise the growth of a further resilient, eco-conscious and community-centred agrarian production system. ICT is a well-recognised notion that encourages sustainable agriculture production by targeting directly agrarians for food security. The study purpose is to investigate why Malaysian agrarians participate in ICT. For this study used the snowball sampling method, 17 interviewees agreed to take part in the face-to-face and one-to-one, interviews from agrarians in Malaysia. The study findings show that ICT promote eco-friendly agricultural production and distribution while also improving collective equity within local communities. The qualitative signs essential to ICT serve as fundamental pillars supporting the developmental initiatives and cultivating a supportive policy environment that recognises and encourages sustainable agriculture production systems.</p>
