Abstract

<title>Abstract</title> <p> The multifunctional coupling of absorbing material in extreme environments faces the challenge of functional failure in case of extreme high-temperature ignition. Herein, we develop a flexible FeCo@(SiO <sub>2</sub> /C) hybrid nanofibers (NFs) with hierarchical interfaces possessing high-performance microwave absorption and fire-resistant adapt to extreme high-temperature condition. The as-prepared FeCo@(SiO <sub>2</sub> /C) hybrids have the fiber diameter of ~ 390 nm in average, uniformly embedded with FeCo nanocrystals. These hierarchical interfaces among ferromagnetic FeCo nanocrystals, conductive carbon layer and microwave-penetrating SiO <sub>2</sub> , synergistically contribute to magnetic loss, electrical conductance loss, and microwave entrance in composites. These positive effect leads to a minimum reflection loss ( <italic>RL</italic> <sub> <italic>min</italic> </sub> ) of − 56.25 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth ( <italic>EAB</italic> ) of 5.3 GHz at the thickness of 2.5 mm. Furthermore, the FeCo@(SiO <sub>2</sub> /C) hybrid film demonstrates excellent bending resistance, processability and ablation-resistant in case of alcohol lamp burning. This flexible FeCo@(SiO <sub>2</sub> /C) hybrid nanofibers provide a great potential for wearable electromagnetic wave pollution protection and high-performance flame retardancy operating in hot environments. </p>
