Abstract
<title>Abstract</title> <p>The integration of cloud-based 3D platforms is reshaping residential interior design education by offering flexible learning environments. While conventional 3D software provides high-fidelity rendering, it often imposes excessive cognitive loads that distract students from core design thinking. Addressing this pedagogical tension, this study evaluates the instructional efficacy of the Kujiale 3D cloud platform and its impact on student learning experiences. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research investigated the correlation between technology integration and design outcomes. Quantitative analysis revealed significant enhancements in visual representations, design drawings, and smart home for all students, regardless of prior technical experience. Conversely, design creativity and sustainable design showed no marked improvement. Complementing these findings, qualitative thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews highlighted high student recognition of the platform's usability and interactive visualization features. The study provides empirical evidence for balancing technology-enhanced learning environments with pedagogical support for higher-order conceptual development, offering critical insights for optimizing human-computer interaction frameworks in design pedagogy.</p>
