Abstract

<jats:p>The issue of actual inpatient care costs exceeding the tariffs established for medical services provided under the compulsory health insurance system remains relevant for federal medical institutions. The aim of the study was to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an organizational and methodological model for managing medical care volumes at the federal center of traumatology and orthopedics using digital technologies. The paper presents the center’s experience in improving financial outcomes for medical care provided under the Compulsory Health Insurance system by applying patient treatment complexity coefficients to the base tariffs of diagnosis-related groups. The study highlights the effectiveness of a systematic approach and multistage control of medical care volumes in order to enhance the financial performance of the center while achieving planned targets for medical care cases and amounts of financial support.</jats:p>
