Abstract
<jats:p>Józef Łobodowski was a well-known Polish writer, journalist, and publicist who left behind a vast body of literary and journalistic work synthesizing the finest ideas and traditions of Polish culture and those of other nations. The author’s works, published in Polish, European, and American periodicals of the 20th century, reflected his active patriotic stance, a critical assessment of political events, and an analysis of the international situation, as well as his concern for the future of Poland and Europe as a whole. He also presented his ideas through Polish and European radio broadcasts, including Radio Madrid and Radio Free Europe. Łobodowski developed his own concept of building interethnic relations in a future democratic and united Europe, leaving behind many valuable and innovative ideas concerning its security. The first part of the monograph outlines the main stages of the writer’s life, which directly influenced the themes and issues addressed in his work, and presents the evolution of his worldview. The second and third parts analyze selected aspects of his journalistic writings, focusing on the geopolitical challenges of postwar Europe, the international situation, and the fate of Central and Eastern European countries, particularly Poland, as well as the issue of Polish–Ukrainian relations and their geopolitical significance. Today, Łobodowski’s reflections on the future of European nations, Poland, and neighboring countries, as well as the challenges and threats they face, sound even more insightful than when they were first formulated. His reflections on international relations—especially Polish–Ukrainian relations—and on the need to find paths toward understanding and rapprochement remain a relevant program of action for the future.</jats:p>
