Abstract

<jats:p>The socio-cultural urban space is characterized and analyzed. The socio-cultural space of the city is considered a complex and multifaceted phenomenon, the essence of which is determined by a multitude of functions and characteristics. One of the significant components of the socio-cultural space is historical memory, associated with key events in the city&amp;#x27;s history, population structure, and the activities of individuals. The socio-cultural space of the city is described using the example of the names of cinemas of the 20th century, when they were an important element of the urban environment and people&amp;#x27;s daily lives. Based on an analysis of historical literature, urban names are characterized as a historical source reflecting key historical events in our country and individual cities.</jats:p>
