Abstract

Western Macedonia is located within a seismically active zone of the Balkan Peninsula, characterized by complex geological, tectonic and seismotectonic area of active intra plate tectonics and history of moderate to strong earthquakes. The identification of potential areas prone to geohazards is therefore essential for seismic hazard assessment, land use planning, and risk mitigation. This study uses seismic data to delineate potential geohazard areas through spatial and statistical analysis.
