Abstract

The Handbook of a Young Teacher is a publication designed for early career teachers; it can be used by teachers of all levels of education. The aim of the monograph is to provide an insight into areas that may be challenging, especially during the period of taking your first teaching steps. The individual chapters have been compiled by female teachers and one male teacher, both working in schools on a daily basis and also researchers in the field of pedagogy in the broad sense. The authors draw attention to responsibility in pedagogical work, explain what pedagogical thinking is and why self-improvement is so important for high levels of learning. The publication also addresses the issue of assessment, as well as cooperation and communication between teachers and parents. Each part of the book consists of a theoretical introduction to the area, to be followed by methodological and guidance considerations with inspiring examples of good practice. Thus, the monograph is the result of the merging of two worlds: scientific and didactic achievements.
