Abstract
The concept of a dynamic mental system was proposed by L. S. Vygotsky as a system combining affective and cognitive processes of personality, but it has not received proper theoretical development in Russian psychology. The concept has a significant explanatory potential for understanding the process of meaning formation and the formation of a holistic and structurally organized subjective reality. The article substantiates the application of a structural-level approach to the study of the process of formation of subjective reality as a dynamic mental system. It is postulated that a comprehensive and holistic study of a dynamic mental system requires the application of a systematic approach methodology. A general draft model of a dynamic mental system is proposed.
