Abstract
<jats:p>This paper presents a cognitive-semantic analysis of the synonym series with the dominant ‘неприятный’ (‘unpleasant’) in the Russian language. It aims to determine the principles of conceptualization of the concept in the Russian linguistic worldview. The study employs a cognitive-linguistic method of analysis. The results show that the main aspects of the concept ‘unpleasant’ in the Russian language are social, emotional, and sensory in nature, while the primary principle of conceptualization is highlighted as a metaphor based on spatial and sensory source domains.</jats:p>
