Abstract

<jats:p>The study covers the economic activities of the Siberian Tatars of the XVII–XVIII centuries reconstructed by the complex use of historical, archaeological and ethnographic sources and the basic historical-comparative method. The hallmark of the research is the identification of economic complexes in natural and socio-economic contexts and the suggested typology of the subject studied. The main difference from the majority of publications about the economy of the peoples of Siberia this monograph includes the components of traditional household culture connected with the economy. This approach facilitates the study of economic-cultural types of the Siberian Tatars and influences the research of the processes of integration of the ethnic community into Russian civilization and Russian historic unity. The monograph presented about Tom Tatars is to be followed by publications about the economy of the Baraba Tatars and the Zabolotnie Tatars. The publication is aimed at ethnographers, archaeologists and historians.</jats:p>
