<jats:p>Anna Schimke examines the legal challenges of digital memory from an interdisciplinary perspective. She analyzes the role of automated processes for the constitution of communication as a legal subject of regulation and calls for a protection-related coordination of data and information-related regulations in order to prevent dysfunctional effects in their interpretation and application.</jats:p>
