Abstract

Christoph Schwöbel unravels the potential of Christian faith as a knowledge providing orientation and understands theology as its reflection and application in the situation of radical religious and philosophical pluralism in the twenty-first century. In these individual studies (mainly originating from his time as professor at the universities of Heidelberg and Tübingen, 1999-2018) he brings aspects of the anatomy and dogmatic structures of a Christian world view into conversation with a whole range of perspectives, such as Bible studies, philosophy and study of religion, the sciences, politics, the arts, and the theologies of other religious traditions. In this way, the resources of Christian faith for finding orientation in the contemporary world are illuminated.
