<jats:p>Cornelius Voigt uses selected sources to trace diverse ways early Christian communities in the second and third centuries understood the Easter event. This study reveals fascinating new interpretations that emerged from evolving theological necessities, while also highlighting the formative role played by older (canonical) Easter narratives.</jats:p>
