<jats:p>This Festschrift documents the scope of the research done by Rolf Birk, who is primarily an expert in labor law, particularly its comparative, European and international aspects, although his studies also address other issues, such as for instance private international law. His numerous publications are a lasting enrichment for legal scholarship.</jats:p>
