Abstract
<jats:p>This report documents the processing and quality control of deep temperature and salinity observations collected at the Northwest Tropical Atlantic Station (NTAS) Ocean Reference Station during NTAS deployments 11 through 20 (2011-2022). The measurements were made by paired Sea-Bird Scientific instruments mounted near the bottom of each surface mooring, nominally about 39 m above the seafloor in approximately 5118 m water depth. The report is intended as a technical record of the data product. It describes the source files, deployment and recovery trimming, time-base checks, salinity recalculation, spike screening, humanin-the-loop review, sensor-to-sensor comparison statistics, and the construction of merged time series across successive deployments. It also summarizes deployment-specific exceptions, including failed or missing records, non-overlapping deployment intervals, and cases where pressure was unavailable or unsuitable for analysis. The resulting NetCDF files follow CF and OceanSITES conventions and provide a traceable deep-ocean temperature record, with salinity and conductivity variables retained where supported by the processed data. The material presented here is intended to support archival use, reproducibility of the processing decisions, and interpretation of the NTAS deep-ocean time series by WHOI and external users.</jats:p>
