Stress Conditions among the Population of Ukraine in the Context of War: The Experience of Sociological Research

<jats:p>The monograph presents the key results of the research project «Stress states of the population of Ukraine in the context of war: prevalence, risk groups, and ways of compensation,” conducted under the competitive theme of the NAS of Ukraine titled “Scientific and technical (experimental) works in the priority area “Ukrainian society in conditions of war, post-war transformation, and European integration” for 2023-2024». The authors of the work examine three research areas: the history of how Ukrainian academic sociologists have studied stress, the substantive findings of the mentioned project, and new methodological developments. The latter summarizes work on tools for measuring psychological distress in cross-sectional studies, which different generations of researchers have conducted at the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine for more than 30 years. The proposed materials should be of interest to anyone studying individual well-being in Ukrainian society.</jats:p>
