Abstract
The presented piece of work deals with the risk management plan of selected ele-ments of critical transportation infrastructure. It is based on data on the failure of the elements in question, the local site conditions in which the elements occur and uses current advanced methods of risk management for the benefit of safety. It is based on the methodology of creating a risk management plan for selected items of transport infrastructure, which is certified by the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic. The publication presents a proposal for the introduction of the methodology into the legislation of the Czech Republic and contains guidance on how the risk management plan should be created by administrators of selected elements of criti-cal transport infrastructure to ensure their quality response to the failure of the ele-ment in question. Finally, it gives examples from the field of international civil avia-tion, in which the IATA has long required a risk management tool.
