Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of four items made of antlers discovered by the archaeological team from Khakass State University during excavations of the Tashtyk funerary site ‘Bely Yar-3’. A striking feature of these finds is the highly artistic execution of horn carving. Another aspect that allows us to talk about the uniqueness of the items is the context of their discovery. Firstly, these items were recorded in an undisturbed archaeological complex that was fully explored, which serves as an important source in the study of the Tashtyk culture. Secondly, we are talking about memorial objects — commemorations, the material of which has not been sufficiently covered in the scientific literature up to date. The article also provides a brief description of the history of the study of this type of monuments, the issue of which is relevant in the Tashtyk problematic. However, the complexity of interpreting these objects complicates the understanding of the functional use of the objects under study.
