Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph by Krystyna Leszczewska, Stanisław Kaczyński, Anna Kowalczyk-Kroenke and Jarosław Poteraj touches on an extremely important area, which is the issue of staff education in the context of the challenges of the contemporary labor market, especially in relation to trends in the professions of the future. The authors address the topic of both significant changes and needs in the area of education, which affect vocational education, but are also the result of changes in the turbulent labor market. The division of the work into five chapters allows for a detailed analysis of the educational offer of vocational schools, trends in the contemporary and future labor market, forecasts of demand for employees and the activities of vocational schools in the Podlaskie region in terms of labor market requirements. The first chapter presents a description of the methodology of the analysis, including its objectives and scope of research. The applied research methods and tools are discussed and the method of selecting participants for the research is characterized. The second chapter presents key trends in relation to the future labor market in a theoretical approach, taking into account the importance of professions of the future. This chapter focuses on the essence of changes in the functioning of labor markets in the future, specifying what the term professions of the future is and what the forecasts regarding the demand for them look like in the light of analyses and research. Chapter three addresses issues related to the educational offer of vocational schools in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. This part indicates the importance of vocational education in the contemporary economy, analyzes the state of vocational education in Poland, activities promoting vocational education and the demand for employees in the light of specialist professional qualifications. Chapter four discusses the results of expert research in the area of forecasting the demand for employees on the future labor market. Chapter five presents the results of qualitative research, including IDI and TDI in the context of the operation of vocational schools in the Podlaskie Voivodeship in terms of adapting the educational offer to the requirements of the future labor market. This monograph ends with conclusions and recommendations that are key from the point of view of individual labor market stakeholders.</jats:p>
