Abstract

The main goal of the analysis was to identify the professions and qualifications needs of Podlaskie employers that cannot be met through formal vocational education. The study focused on the professions and qualifications needs of two sectors that are key to the Podlaskie Voivodeship economy: construction; professional, scientific, and technical activities. The research was based on the assumption that the regional labor market is experiencing a skills and competency mismatch, which negatively impacts the development of enterprises operating in the analyzed sectors. Non formal education, thanks to its greater flexibility, can support a more rapid adaptation of qualifications and competencies to economic needs than formal education. The analysis used qualitative methods, including desk research, individual in-depth interviews with training voucher operators in the region; focus group interviews with entrepreneurs and representatives of employer organizations; and analysis of job offers identifying demand in the regional labor market.
