Abstract
<jats:p>“Kalwarianka” Sports Club dates back to 1923. The club originally functioned under different names as an independent football section of “Sokół” (“Falcon”) Gymnastic Association, established in 1898. During the first period of the club’s existence, the team was mostly made up of young local residents, students, and apprentices in different trades and crafts (mainly carpentry). In 1939, “Kalwarianka” was officially accredited by the government authorities. During the German occupation (1939–1945), the club was an underground organization, playing matches with teams from neighboring localities. After 1945, it had different fortunes. Due to political reasons, the name “Kalwarianka” was only restored in 1957. In 1955, playing under the name “Kalwaria,” the local footballers clinched the Polish championship title of “Start” sports association.</jats:p>
