Abstract

The main purpose of this scientific article is to examine the specific features of teaching foreign languages, specifically German, through the acquisition of neologisms in modern German in the practice of teaching. The relevance of studying the impact of neologisms on the methodology of teaching German at a university is due to several factors. Firstly, there is an objective contradiction between the rapid updating of the language's vocabulary and the relative inertia of traditional educational programs and materials, which often fail to keep up with these changes. Secondly, a graduate of a modern university, especially in the context of professionally oriented education, should possess not only stable grammatical and lexical skills, but also sociolinguistic competence that allows them to understand and use the current language adequately, including its latest elements. Ignorance of key neologisms can lead to communication failures, misunderstanding of modern media texts, scientific publications, and professional discourse. The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of the neologization phenomenon on the theoretical foundations and practical approaches in teaching German at a university, as well as to develop methodological recommendations for the effective integration of the latest vocabulary into the educational process. To achieve this goal, the following tasks need to be completed: - define the term "neologism"; - explain the types and origins of neologisms; - give examples of new words and explain their meanings.
