Abstract

The article provides a comparative analysis of the application of the Swiss model of vocational tourism education in different countries of Europe and Asia. Particular attention is paid to studying which elements of the Swiss model (practical orientation approach, program flexibility, integration with business, cooperation with research centers) are being borrowed and adapted by universities in other countries. The forms of integration of the Swiss model in universities of different countries and the balance of practical and theoretical components of educational programmes are compared. Despite the different education systems and levels of tourism development in the countries, this issue is relevant for many of them in improving the training of professional personnel. Studying the experience of various countries is of great importance for the Russian tourism sector, as research demonstrates the high effectiveness of the Swiss model in improving the quality of tourism education and the efficiency of the tourism business.
