Abstract
The role of the teacher is currently being transformed from the traditional model as a carrier and translator of knowledge to a new digital format. This happens under the influence of algorithmization of the educational environment and artificial intelligence technologies. New professional competencies are required. The purpose of the study was to identify the imperative of humanistic teacher competencies that would be able to harmonize AI technologies and the anthropological essence of human education. The gap between the development of AI and the conservativeness of professional standards of pedagogical activity is revealed. The risk of dehumanization of the educational process and loss of subjectivity of participants in the educational process is growing. It is proved that the teacher’s competencies are a sociocultural imperative, but not an optional task. This is a space of human development that prevents the school from degenerating into a technical pipeline devoid of meaning, dialogue and humanism.
