Abstract
<jats:p>The primary objective of this study is to analyze the training characteristics, process, and content of developing professional competencies in chemistry among students at technical universities. The main educational pathways for student preparation (basic, advanced, and specialized) are identified. The article presents an analysis of the curricula of various areas and profiles of training for students in technical specialties, using the Siberian State Industrial University as an example. The results of monitoring student readiness to study chemistry are presented.
