The State as a Societal-Metabolic System: An Interdisciplinary Concept

<jats:p>This scientific publication presents a number of theoretical and methodological tools based on the key interdisciplinary concept: "societal (social) metabolism". The synthetic concept of societal metabolism goes beyond the perspective of traditional social sciences, introducing into the context the biophysical dimension of metabolic exchange between society and nature. The interdisciplinary concept of the state as a societal-metabolic system developed in the book emphasizes the importance of mutual connections and interactions of factors of material and social exchange within the framework of the established individual and group social practice in the life of society. The monographic study is intended for students, postgraduates and specialists creatively comprehending the fundamental provisions of the humanities, social and political sciences, as well as for all those interested in the theory and practice of applying interdisciplinary approaches to the problems of social science.</jats:p>
