Abstract

<jats:p>This chapter explores the critical role of reporting information, disaster recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction in disaster risk management (DRM). It discusses the concept, importance, and approaches to disaster reporting, focusing on communication channels such as early warning systems (EWS), hazard monitoring, and media coverage. The role of media in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and its impact on risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) is also discussed. This chapter highlights post-disaster assessments, including damage analysis and socio-economic needs, and the identification of vulnerable populations. Furthermore, it emphasises community participation in recovery, governance frameworks, and policy integration for resilient infrastructure, housing, livelihoods, and environmental restoration.</jats:p>
