Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>In this chapter on Curriculum Windows: What Curriculum Theorists of the 1980s Can Teach Us About Schools and Society Today by Poetter et al. (Eds.), the author reflects on how curriculum theory from the 1980s continues to offer valuable insights for today’s educators. Drawing from critical pedagogy, feminist theory, and post-structuralist perspectives, the chapter explores how educators can resist neoliberal forces in education by embracing culturally responsive practices, promoting critical thinking, and centering care in their pedagogy. Through a personal narrative lens, the author highlights how classroom experiences shaped by cultural diversity and social inequity underscore the urgent need for transformative teaching and curriculum practices. This chapter reaffirms the relevance of 1980s curriculum theorists in confronting present-day educational challenges and in inspiring educators to cultivate just, inclusive, and reflective classroom spaces.</jats:p>
