Abstract

Abstract
As an alternative to mass tourism, alternative tourism comes up with more individualized, significant, and sustainable travel experiences. Numerous subcategories, such as ecotourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, rural tourism, health tourism, and literary tourism, are encompassed in this field. This study pinpoints the significance of language and literature in this context while examining the cultural and economic effects of alternative tourism. Specifically, literary tourism offers visitors culturally enriching experiences by directing them to locations where authors and literary works reside, as well as venues with a literary focus. For data collection, academic research and case studies were examined, and the perspectives of both locals and visitors were incorporated into the data collection process. Qualitative research techniques were employed to analyze the data and determine how alternative tourism affects the general well-being of the community. Besides, the connection between tourism and foreign language instruction is investigated with a focus on how learning and utilizing the local language boosts the trip experience. The impact of literary museums, book festivals, and literary hotels on the local economy is taken into consideration, along with an analysis of the economic contributions of literature. According to this perspective, alternative tourism aids in the preservation of cultural assets and promotes sustainable development for nearby communities.
