Abstract

Abstract
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is an evidence-based intervention widely applied in school settings. Characterized by its strengths-based, culturally flexible, and collaborative style, SFBT is used by school social workers around the world in family, group, and school-wide settings to promote student well-being. In particular, SFBT offers school social workers concrete techniques for asking specific solution-focused questions, which include the miracle question along with preferred-future, exception, success, difference, relationship, coping, and scaling questions. School social workers can combine SFBT approaches with art, play, and group work, enhancing communication between social workers and students.
