Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Chapter 7, “The Role of Budgets in Mission-Driven Success,” describes the importance of the financial aspect as innovations are designed and formulated in health and human services. The chapter focuses on how health and human service leaders can approach the budget process as they develop, sustain, and implement innovative programs. The concepts presented can be utilized throughout the budgetary cycle. Leaders must know funding models and revenue strategies to support their budgets. At the same time, leaders understand how to plan expenses necessary to achieve desired goals and objectives. Finally, the chapter considers perspectives from organizational leaders, such as executive directors, high-level management, and the board of directors.</jats:p>
