Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>This chapter discusses assessment of the knee as it relates to sports injuries and then goes on to describe common knee presentations in sports medicine. It provides information about both collateral and cruciate ligament strain and rupture, and rehabilitation methods for recovery and return to play. It then goes on to address both meniscal and articular cartilage injury. It looks at Hoffa’s syndrome, iliotibial band friction syndrome, and the importance of the mechanism of injury in assessment. The chapter also gives an overview of anterior knee pain and patella conditions. The chapter concludes with a section on the paediatric knee.</jats:p>
