Abstract
Abstract
Regulating Hydrogen in Europe is the first book on hydrogen legislation and permitting practices in Europe. Its ground-breaking chapters have been specifically designed to cover the emerging use of hydrogen from a legal perspective. The book provides an in-depth discussion of the permitting regime of the individual components of the hydrogen supply chain. At the same time, it also demonstrates the link between technical or economic issues with hydrogen ‘on the ground’ and possible solutions to these problems by law. As such, it will be an academic gateway that helps practitioners and scholars alike to navigate the intricacies of the law aspects of decarbonizing the gas sector. This book not only features the status quo in legal terms but also discusses the regulatory issues that will be created by the scaling up of hydrogen production and usage and provides best practice examples to overcome these issues.
