<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>This chapter begins by summing up the book’s findings. Drawing on the preceding chapters, it concludes that Chinese policymakers have been deeply influenced by STI policy paradigms from abroad. Nonetheless, it also emphasizes that they have forged their own path as this process has unfolded, resisting foreign belief systems in some cases and adapting them in others. The chapter then turns its attention to the future. It considers how China’s STI policies may evolve in the years to come, including different ways in which the country might change course. The chapter concludes by focusing on avenues for future research and the potential for new paradigms to emerge in this domain.</jats:p>
