<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>The Conclusion summarizes the main points of the book. It again defines notions like “Complex Film” and the “Cinema of Converging Lives.” It restates the overall structure of the book, which goes beyond typological studies of Complex Films to comprehend the “engines” that lead characters to interact in the particular form the book examines. It reviews how a section of the book has interrogated the Causations of converging lives (like Accident, Chance, Coincidence, the Supernatural and History); while another has focused on the role of Geography (both Local/Urban and International/Global). Yet another section has investigated Formal structures that lead characters to cross paths: the Circulation of Objects, and Metafiction. Beyond this, an important through-line in the book is the theme of loneliness and isolation, which runs counter to the concept of interlocking lives. Throughout, scholarly sources outside of film studies have been tapped to deepen an understanding of the films discussed (psychology, sociology, statistics, literature, etc.).</jats:p>
