Abstract

Abstract
Logical and philosophical arguments and evidences are a great place to begin the case for moral realism, but one should not stop there. Be content with nothing less than an expansive rationality and generous empiricism. Be open as well to nondiscursive evidence and Franciscan knowledge, axiomatic intuitions and direct apprehensions, moral common sense, self-evidence, and visceral reasons of the heart and imagination. Be eclectic and virtuous in your epistemology, privileging both the abstract and concrete, theory and praxis, the head and heart. Heed the inspiration derived from moral heroes and exemplars and a guiding love of wisdom and quest for understanding, reading great literature along the way.
