Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Professional writing encompasses a range of genres and practices across different professions that are most commonly in English than any other language, presenting myriad challenges for those with language backgrounds in languages other than English. Proficiency and competency in professional writing are indispensable for effectively communicating with various audiences for multiple instrumental purposes to successfully achieve organizational goals. Understanding the inherent complexities of writing is vital for preparing English L2 (including ESL/EFL/EAL) learners for their future professions. Given the rapid pace of change in professional communication practices, continuous research and adaptation in teaching strategies will be essential for preparing effective professional writers. This article synthesizes key themes and findings from recent literature, providing a foundation for further exploration and research in the field of professional writing.</jats:p>
