Abstract

Abstract
This entry provides an overview of the research approaches to the intersection of translation and sexuality. The relationship between these two categories has been explored within the social constructionist paradigm and informed by post‐structuralist theories of power, the sex/gender system, and sexual diversity. Contemporary research in the field of Translation Studies delves into three key areas: the translation of sexuality as a device for (disciplinary) knowledge, the translation of desire across various levels of discourse, and the translation of sexual identities in literature, cinema/television, and the Internet.
