Abstract
Abstract
Grammaticality judgements are decisions about the well‐formedness of linguistic structures, typically sentences. Although somewhat controversial because of their perceived unnaturalness, judgement tasks continue to be an important part of second‐language research. They are useful for examining performance with structures that can be difficult to elicit in speech or writing, and they are relatively easy to design and analyze. There are a number of methodological considerations for their use, which researchers must take into account.
