Abstract

Abstract
Publishing mixed‐methods research (MMR) studies can be a rewarding yet challenging endeavor. This entry outlines the major components and considerations for writing up an MMR study. Like other research reports, MMR articles have a similar generic structure. However, there are other major components that are exclusive to MMR and must be incorporated in an MMR research report or paper. These major components are a rationale for mixing methods and the philosophical underpinning, research questions, design and sampling procedures, and integration strategy for making meta‐inferences. To ensure that MMR reports (papers, theses, etc.) are transparent and reliable, the MMR major components must be incorporated in the research report. This entry explains and discusses these considerations.
