Abstract

Abstract
Lexical bundles are groups of three or more words that frequently occur in a register. They are identified by computer software designed for linguistic analysis. Lexical bundles are not complete grammatical units because they are made up of structural fragments with other embedded fragments, but they can be grouped according to their grammatical correlates. Lexical bundles have been considered language building blocks, and they performed very distinctive functions in discourse.
