Abstract
Abstract
Gene–environment correlation (rGE) is a major theoretical and empirical lens that explores the relationship between genetics and the environment. Gene–environment correlation operates through three major theoretical types – passive, evocative, and active. Gene–environment correlation, in which genes influence exposure to environments, is distinct from gene–environment interactions, in which genes influence sensitivity to environmental exposures.
